EARLIEST RECORD:

1637:  On 18 April 1637, an agreement was made between William Bladen, John Fisher and Ralph Woodward, all of the City of Dublin, Ireland that Bladen and Fisher would contribute money to Woodward so that he, his family and servants could go to New England. Once he was in New England, he was to "provide proportions of land, in some other place, for himselfe, and likewise for ye said William and John upon the said land in some other place, for himselfe and the said William Bladen and John Fisher ... and shall erect and build houses both for himselfe, and likewise for ye said William and John upon the said land .." Ralph Woodward settled in Hingham Massachusetts ..... (All quotes are from Suffolk Deeds, vol III, pages 176,7) - from David R. Jansen's North East United States Genealogy for full article.
Family Tree:  the above William Bladen heads up the Derbyshire/Staffs/Shropshire Bladen Tree, born 1585-1663.
